The court today punished the alleged accused who set his wife on fire by pouring petrol on suspicion of character in Digha Bani, Parasia, with life imprisonment. Actually the incident happened at around 9:30 pm on 12 July 2021. The victim Janki Bai, husband Chintaman Yaduvanshi, aged 40 years, was admitted to the district hospital for treatment after being scorched by fire.

From where he was sent to Government Medical College, Nagpur for treatment. On July 14, 2021, Sub-Inspector Anjana Maravi Police Station Ravanawada went to the burn ward of Nagpur Medical College and took me from the victim Jankibai, in which she told that she used to suspect her husband. On the night of July 12, around 9:30 when he was in the house. She was making bread on the stove.

Then the husband threw petrol on her from behind with the intention of killing her, due to which she was burnt from there. Later Jankibai died during treatment, on the basis of which the police had registered the crime number 95/2021 against the accused husband Chintaman Yaduvanshi in the police station Ravanawada.

On the basis of the statement of Jankibai’s family members and other witnesses, District and Sessions Judge, Chhindwara Jitendra Kumar Sharma passed the judgment on Thursday, August 18, and found the accused Chintaman Yaduvanshi guilty and punished with life imprisonment and a fine of ₹ 2000. Advocate Ajay Paliwal appeared on behalf of the state.
