The investigation of corruption case against 82 officials of Delhi’s Rohini Jail will be handed over to Anti-Corruption. This investigation will be done in connection with the FIR registered in the case of recovering one and a half crore rupees per month from him in return for giving jail facility to Mahathug Sukesh Chandrasekaran. Action can also be taken against Director General of Jail Sandeep Goyal for corruption on such a large scale in jail.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had ordered the officers to monitor the case of collusion with the jail officials of Mahathug Sukesh in Rohini Jail under zero tolerance towards corruption. The matter is found to be serious. The Lt Governor is likely to recommend an inquiry soon.
was running the business of recovery from jail
Mahathag Sukesh was running extortion and illegal business even while imprisoned in jail. In return, the jail authorities used to charge Rs 1.5 crore every month from him. On investigation it was found that a separate barrack was provided to him in the jail. He was given other facilities including using a mobile phone. The complaint was lodged on June 15. After this the role of the jail officials was being investigated.
