AIMP elections on September 24: Over 1500 members will vote; Candidates of three panels will stand for 15 posts

The elections of the Association of Industries MP (AIMP) of the industry will be held on 24 September this time. More than 1500 members will vote for a total of 15 posts. Later the elected office bearers will choose the president, two vice-presidents, secretary, co-secretary and treasurer. There has been a stir about this. Progressive and industrial panels face each other in elections. This time there are indications that another panel may also enter the fray.

Election Officer Prabhu Saxeria said that these elections are being held after a gap of three years. The process of its enrollment has started from 16th August and will continue till 23rd August. So far 21 nominations have been filled. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on August 29. Nominations can be withdrawn till September 3. After this the final list will be released after the process of withdrawal. The elections will be held in the association’s building located at Polo Ground and the results will also be declared on the same day. If only 15 members remain after the withdrawal of nominations, then in such a situation elections will not be held. Members whose membership fee and arrears are pending will not be eligible to vote. The association has more than 2,000 members. Out of these, those people whose fees are pending and they deposit them before September 24, then they will also be able to vote. Before this, the 63rd Annual General Meeting of the Association will be held on 23rd September.
