Haryana’s history-sheeter Lakhanpal alias Lakhan was shot dead outside Hapur court on Tuesday. The infamous Lakhan was being brought in police custody from Faridabad to Hapur court. Where outside the court, 4 miscreants killed Lakhan by firing 20 rounds.
This is not the first case when questions have been raised on the security arrangements of the court. When this sensational incident echoed till Lucknow, SP Hapur suspended the city police inspector Somveer Singh and the office post in-charge, removed the CO from the circle. Even before this, there have been murders during the hearing in and around the West UP court.
After the Hapur incident, the police have intensified the checking at the gate of Meerut Court. Every person going to the court on Tuesday was being thoroughly checked.

1. History-sheeter of Haryana killed in police custody in Hapur
Lakhanpal, a resident of Faridabad district of Haryana, along with his two brothers had murdered property dealer Sudhir in Udayrampur Nangla of Dhaulana, Hapur. The incident is of 24 November 2019. The date of this case in Hapur court was on 16 August 2022. Lakhanpal, a prisoner of Faridabad jail, was brought to Hapur by Haryana Police on 16 August. Lakhanpal was shot dead by four assailants outside the court. The police who had brought the captive Lakhan in their custody, could not do anything.
After the murder of Lakhanpal, who had appeared in Hapur on 16 August i.e. a day before, the attackers were imprisoned in the CCTV while fleeing.
2. Murder of UP Bar Council President in Agra
On 12 June 2019, Darvesh Yadav, who was elected president of the UP Bar Council, was shot dead in Agra Court. She was sitting in the chamber after the reception on becoming president. At the same time, the former associate advocate shot him five times with his licensed pistol. After this the accused advocate shot himself too. Due to this incident in the court premises, lawyers took to the streets. After this, many questions arose on the security of the court premises.

3. Block chief shot dead in Moradabad court
The day was 24 February 2015. Moradabad’s Dilari block chief Yogendra alias Bhura was shot dead in police custody. Yogendra alias Bhura was a big name in Moradabad, who made his dreadful identity in the crime case in 10 years.
After the murder of the block chief in the court, 2 attackers were caught from the spot. One of the accused was the same in whose brother’s murder the block chief was in jail, i.e. murder was avenged by murder.
4. Murder of Vicky Tyagi in Muzaffarnagar Court
It was 2:30 PM on 16 February 2015 in Muzaffarnagar. Notorious Vicky Tyagi was brought to the court from Kotdwar jail in Uttarakhand on production. The police took him to court number-10. During this, the attacker in the guise of a lawyer reached inside and fired 12 bullets at Vicky Tyagi with a pistol.
Vicky died on the spot. There was a stampede after seeing the bullets going on in the court. After shooting 12 shots, the attacker was putting another magazine in the pistol, when the police caught him with the help of the people. More than 25 cases of robbery, murder and extortion were registered against Vicky Tyagi. Vicky Tyagi was a sharp shooter from West UP.
In the face of its terror, even the police used to tremble from facing it. A month before that incident, Vicky Tyagi was also accused of killing constable Chunni Lal in Muzaffarnagar jail.

5. Gang war in Meerut court, 3 notorious killed, soldier also martyred
Meerut will never forget that day of 16 October 2006. When in the gang war, the court of Meerut resonated with the flurry of bullets. Notorious Ravindra alias Bhura and his nephew Gaurav Malik, who came to court in court, were shot dead. In this case, the miscreant Rajendra alias Churmut was also killed by police bullets. UP Police constable Manoj was also martyred.
This is the gate of Meerut Court. On Tuesday too, there was a crowd in the court. Police were more deployed than everyday.
Seven other passers-by were also injured in the incident, which took place at the main intersection of the court in broad daylight. In this sensational case, the police had filed a charge sheet against 7 notorious.
