Indore Swine Flu Update: Corona cases are definitely decreasing in Indore but cases of Swine Flu or Influenza H1N (H1N1) are increasing rapidly. At the same time, the increasing number of H1N1 cases in the city has increased the concern of the authorities. Significantly, at present, the total number of swine flu or H1N1 cases in Indore has reached 16.

According to media reports, so far 16 cases of swine flu have been found positive in Indore this year and around 9 cases have been reported in this month itself. At the same time, according to reports, “16 cases of swine flu have been found in the city, out of which four patients are still being treated in various hospitals.”

New guidelines may be issued for H1N1 testing
At the same time, in view of the increasing cases of swine flu, the health department is going to issue new guidelines for H1N1 testing. Under this, the government lab-MGM Medical College’s lab has been authorized for the final confirmation of the cases. Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr BS Satya says, “We are closely monitoring the cases. The patients undergoing treatment are stable and they will be discharged from the hospitals soon. ,

Confusion regarding symptoms of H1N1 and corona
Significantly, with the rise in the number of H1N1 cases in the city, there is confusion among doctors as the symptoms of COVID-19 and H1N1 are similar. However, the health department has directed doctors to send samples of patients for H1N1 testing only if the patient falls in ‘C category’.

How many categories of H1N1 patients are there?
Category a- Patients with category A do not need the test. These patients have symptoms of mild fever, cough and sore throat, body aches, headache, nausea and diarrhea. These patients have been advised to stay in home isolation.

Category B – Patients with category B tend to have high grade fever and are in the high risk category. These patients include children with mild illness, pregnant women, people above 65 years of age and patients with lung, liver, heart or any other disease.

Category C- Patients in category C have all the symptoms of category A and B and require immediate hospitalization depending on their health condition.
