It is raining intermittently for 36 hours in Lalitpur district. On the orders of the District Magistrate, a holiday has been declared on Tuesday, 23 August for the schools of all the boards from class 1 to class 12.

Due to the rain in the district, the rivers and streams are going in spate, due to which many places have been waterlogged and roads have been blocked. In view of such a situation, after the permission of District Magistrate Alok Singh, District Basic Education Officer Rampravesh organized all types of council primary, upper primary, recognized, aided, English medium, CBSE recognized schools from class 1 to 8 on 23 August. Tuesday has been declared a holiday. It may be noted that 22nd August was also a holiday on Monday due to rain. Holiday has been declared for the second consecutive day.

District School Inspector SS Varun said that due to the rain in the district, rivers and streams are in spate at places and water logging situation is prevailing and keeping in view the safety of the students, due to which the state government on the permission of the District Magistrate , Non-Government Aided, Secondary, Financeless, All Schools, UP Board, Sanskrit Schools, CCSE, ICSE Schools 23 August has been declared a holiday on Tuesday.
