PUDA employee caught taking 12 thousand bribe: SDO absconding asking for money, bribe was sought for NOC of plot

In Amritsar, Punjab, Vigilance took a major action and caught an employee of Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) with a bribe. At the same time, raids are on to nab the main SDO who sought the bribe. The accused have been identified as SDO Vijaypal Singh and Sevadar Amritdeep Singh.

Vigilance Bureau SSP Amritsar Varinder Singh informed that Sushant Lok, a resident of Gurugram Haryana, had given a complaint against the SDO accused of PUDA. Actually, Sushant told that he has a plot in Pal Avenue, Amritsar, which he wanted to sell. He had applied for the NOC of the plot in PUDA, but he was not being given the NOC. SDO demanded a bribe of Rs 12,000 for NOC.

Arrest in front of government witnesses

The Vigilance Bureau team did the planning and did the planning outside the PUDA building. Sushant arrived with the money and Amritdeep Singh, the servitor from the front, reached to collect the money. In the presence of two government witnesses, the police arrested Sevadar Amritdeep Singh, while the SDO escaped due to non-appearance on the spot. At present, raids are on to nab him. A case has been registered against both of them under the Corruption Act.
