Preparations are on to register an FIR against former minister and Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the labor transport tender scam in Punjab. The Vigilance Bureau probing this scam can add Ashu’s name to the FIR at any time.
In the mandis of Ludhiana district, many irregularities have come to the fore of the companies taking tender for loading-unloading of wheat. Many officers have been nominated in this. The Vigilance Bureau has kept the FIR related to this scam ‘open’. Any officer and other people whose names will come up during the investigation, it will be added to this FIR. Vigilance Bureau has called for the record of tenders related to labor transport in all the mandis of the state after the disturbances came to light in Ludhiana.
According to sources associated with the Vigilance Bureau, Ashu is almost certain to be named in this case. However, no official is saying this openly yet. Ashu’s special friend and his PA Meenu Pankaj Malhotra have been named in the FIR. At present, Meenu Malhotra is absconding.
This case has been registered on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh. Gurpreet Singh and his associates have named Ashu in this scam. After that Ashu went to the High Court for Blanket Bell.
