Preparation for CBI probe into Post Matric Scholarship scam: Dharamsot, who was a minister in Captain’s government, will be tightened; AAP government agreed

There will be a CBI inquiry into the post matric scholarship scam in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has given its consent for this. In this, former Congress minister Sadhu Singh will tighten the noose on Dharamsot. The scam came to light when Dharamsot was the Social Security Minister. However, Dharamsot was claimed to have got a clean chit when Captain Amarinder Singh was the CM.

CM Bhagwant Mann had recently got all the files related to the scholarship scam with him. According to sources, the CBI wrote a letter to the Punjab government that they want to investigate it. On which CM Mann agreed. All the files will be handed over to the CBI as soon as the formal probe begins.

Former minister Dharamsot is currently lodged in Nabha jail in corruption case.

What is post matric scholarship scam
In Punjab, post matric scholarship is given to SC students with the help of the center. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was the Minister of Social Security in the Punjab Government when Captain Amarinder Singh was the CM. There were allegations against him that there was rigging in distributing scholarships. No record was found for distributing Rs 39 crore. Suspicions were raised that the money was siphoned off in the name of the colleges which did not exist. Not only this, 16.91 crores more were released to the colleges and universities from which 8 crores were to be recovered.

Dharamsot in jail in corruption case
Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is currently lodged in Nabha Jail. CM Bhagwant Mann’s government has caught him in a corruption case in the forest department. He is accused of taking a commission of Rs 500 per tree for felling and planting trees. Apart from this, while contesting the election, he hid information from the Election Commission about a 500-yard residential plot in the posh area of ​​Mohali in the name of his wife.
