He said, ‘China and India are two ancient civilizations, two emerging economies and two large neighbours. China and India have far more common interests than differences. Both are better for each other. Instead of posing a threat to each other, both should try to strengthen each other.

Any objection to the activities of the Group of Four is a unilateral protest against collective and cooperative efforts. To this, Wang replied, ‘China’s position on the quad is clear. I would like to emphasize that in a world of peace, cooperation and openness, there will be no support if anyone tries to form small groups.
