Major Amit Sareen, Additional Deputy Commissioner (H) of Jalandhar, Punjab, made a surprise inspection of the service center located in the district administrative complex on Monday. He heard their problems from the people who had come there for his work. After this, necessary directions were given to the officers of the service center. When he saw the people coming to the service center battling with the heat, he directed the officials there to immediately make arrangements for additional fans and cold drinking water for the common man. People coming here should not face any kind of problem.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Meder Sareen visited the various counters and reviewed the various phases of providing civil services. He directed the concerned officers to provide smooth and timely services to the applicants. He also asked to ensure cleanliness around the service centre. He said that the state government has opened service centers for the convenience of the people, through which services are being provided seven days a week.

Giving information about the services being provided through the Seva Kendra, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that 425 citizen services including 320 online and 105 offline services are being provided through 35 service centers of the district including Agriculture Department, Punjab Technical University and passport applications. He said that citizens belonging to various departments can also book slots online at https://esewa.punjab.gov.in/ to avail services.

Open additional counters for e-stamping

ADC Major Amit Sareen saw people getting harassed for e-stamping at the service centre. He immediately ordered the officers of the service center to start an additional counter for e-stamping at the service center. Let us tell you that now the government has made all the stamp paper work online. Now to make any kind of registry, affidavit or power of attorney, stamp paper is available by depositing money in the service center. There was a line for stamp paper and people were getting upset in the heat. Taking strict cognizance of this, ADC Major Surrey has ordered to open additional counters.

Also reprimanded for cleanliness

The ADC strongly reprimanded the operators of the center even if the cleanliness system inside the service center was not good. He has issued instructions to the Center to improve the cleanliness by issuing H letters. He has written in his letter that he is not satisfied with the cleanliness system in the centre. He said that cleanliness should be maintained around the service center.

People complained that since 6 o’clock in the morning, they have been sitting with tokens

People standing in the service center for e-stamping for registry or other works told the ADC that they have been standing since 6 in the morning but their number has not come yet. People also complained to the ADC that there is no display board on any of the counters that what work will be done at which counter. The ADC immediately directed that display boards should be installed at the counters. So that the people coming to the service center can know which counter to go to for which work.
