The court has decided to initiate contempt of court proceedings against former Pakistan PM Imran Khan. Imran Khan had openly threatened senior police officers, a woman judge, state institutions during a public meeting in Islamabad on Saturday. After which a case was registered against the former PM under the Anti-Terrorism Act for threatening the police, judiciary and other institutions. After the registration of the case, the sword of arrest was hanging over Imran Khan. After which he had moved the Islamabad High Court seeking bail before his arrest.
Relief for arrest
The Islamabad High Court on Monday granted protective bail to PTI chief Imran Khan in the case till Thursday (25 August). The former prime minister was booked on Sunday under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (punishment for acts of terrorism). In his speech on Saturday, Imran Khan had threatened to register a case against the IGP and DIG of Islamabad and said, “We will not spare you.”

Shahbaz Gill was arrested
Imran Khan’s party has accused the police officers of misbehaving with Shahbaz Gill. Zeba Chaudhry is the same judge who had given Shahbaz Gill on remand for two days. In fact, after the Lasbela incident, when six army officers were martyred, Gill tried to instigate the ranks of the army to go against their top command. After which he was arrested.
