The picture of which leaders the Congress will give party tickets for the Himachal Assembly elections will become clear to some extent today. The chairmanship of the screening committee chief Deepa Dasmunshi in Delhi will begin in the afternoon. In this, the proposal of names sent by the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) will be discussed.
The PCC has sent a single name i.e. the name of a single claimant to the screening committee for about 40 seats. A proposal has been passed in the PCC to send a single name of sitting MLA, former minister, secretary of All India Congress Committee and former state president. Sources reveal that despite the proposal of the PCC, there will be no discussion in the single name screen committee on 4 to 5 seats.
Apart from this, the 28-seat party needs serious thinking about the ticket. There are many seats in these, for which more than half a dozen Congress leaders have expressed their claim for tickets. It is being told that the National President Sonia Gandhi has got a secret survey done of three to four claimants from each assembly constituency. The leaders who top the survey are almost certain to get tickets. This survey of the party can spoil the ticket game of many contenders.

Please inform that Screening Committee members Umang Singhar and Dheeraj Gurjar were on a tour of Himachal from 8 to 14 September. During this, he has held one-to-one meetings with ticket contenders of all 68 assembly constituencies or with their supporters. Received more than 700 applications
Himachal Congress has sought applications from ticket contenders this time. The party has received over 700 applications for 68 seats. Out of these, PCC has prepared the panel. There are also many constituencies from where the names of 5 to 7 contenders have been sent to the screening committee.

Deepa Dasmunshi is the head of the screening committee constituted for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. Umang Singhar and Dheeraj Gurjar have been made members in this committee. Himachal Congress in-charge Rajiv Shukla, State President Pratibha Singh, Legislature Party leader Mukesh Agnihotri, election campaign committee chief Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and co-in-charge and secretary of All India Congress Committee will be ex-officio members of this screening committee.
