The police of Phulpur and Powai police stations of Azamgarh district have attached assets worth more than 13 lakhs of Asha Yadav, who was absconding till late Thursday night. Asha Yadav was on the run for the past several months. Asha Yadav is the daughter-in-law of Lallan Yadav and Lallan Yadav is the elder brother of SP MLA Ramakant Yadav. In Magna Bazar of Powai police station, illegal liquor was recovered from the shop of Asha Yadav’s wife Late Arvind from October 2021 after being sold by wearing government wrappers. The officials of the Excise Department had informed the officials about this matter. After which on October 3, 2021, a joint team of Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Gorakhpur and Prayagraj, including the Deputy Commissioner of Excise, conducted a checking campaign in the district. Under this checking drive with 18 vehicles, disturbances were found in the shops of Asha Yadav in Powai area. The salesmen working at these shops had accepted that this shop is run under the supervision of Asha Yadav. After which a case was registered in this case under 136/21 section 420/467/468/471 Bhadvi and 60A Excise Act. Earlier, notice was issued under 82, even after not showing up, the district administration took attachment action.
