In Shravasti district, under the leadership of DM Neha Prakash, the Disaster Management Authority is being strengthened continuously. So that in the time of disaster like flood in the district, they can give their cooperation in relief and rescue work. In the same sequence, 182 disaster friends from the district were sent to SDRF Center, State Disaster Response Force, Lucknow for the training of the second batch.

The disaster friends in the bus were flagged off today by the President, District Panchayat Daddan Mishra, MLA Ramferan Pandey and District Magistrate Neha Prakash. These Aapda Mitras will get 12 days training in Lucknow. There they will also be given proper training to deal with various types of disasters including swimming. The same proficiency test will also be conducted for them.

Kits will be given to disaster friends
Aapda Mitras who pass in the examination will be given certificates and I-cards by SDRF. A kit will be given to all these disaster friends from there. In which there will also be material to deal with the disaster. These disaster friends will come from there and give their services under the District Disaster Management Authority in the district. In case of any calamity in the district, their cooperation will be taken in the distribution of rescue and relief materials.

Participation in awareness program
Disaster expert Arun Kumar Mishra has told that as per the instructions of the District Magistrate and under the guidance of Additional District Magistrate Kamlesh Chandra, training of disaster friends is being done continuously. Before this batch, 248 Aapda Mitras have come to the district after getting training. They are now participating in awareness programs. In this batch, 182 Aapda Mitras have left for training. After their return, more Aapda Mitras will be sent for training.
