Youth protests continue against Iran’s Islamic laws. While on the one hand the students are forcibly protesting against the hijab on the streets, now people have found another unique way of protest. People of different genders are hugging each other in public places and showing their affection. Let us tell you that hugging of two people of different genders in public places is prohibited under Islamic laws of Iran.
Radicals in Iran stop doing this because they see it as a corrupt form of Western culture. They believe that this threatens morality in Islamic society.
However, some people are now breaking the old rules by rising above these. In a video going viral on social media, some people in Iran’s Karaj city were seen hugging, shaking hands and greeting each other in public.
This video has been shared by Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad on Twitter. While sharing the video, he wrote, ‘A woman has sent this video from Karaj, Iran. In the Islamic Republic, girls and boys are separated from the age of 7. It is forbidden for men and women to hug each other, shake hands and attend mixed parties. These couples are breaking the law by hugging.

In another video, there are two women with no hijab on their heads. She is saying that those who are sad should come and hug.

Amini, 22, died on September 16, three days after being arrested by ethics police in Tehran for allegedly violating the country’s strict dress code for women. Protests have continued in Iran since then. So far, dozens of people have died in street violence, mostly protesters. Hundreds of protesters have also been arrested.
