Read these tweets of Japanese woman here in sequence…
On March 9, I tweeted a video of the Indian festival of Holi, after which I received more messages and retweets than I could have imagined. I got very scared by all this, so I deleted the tweet. I apologize to all those who were hurt by watching that video.

I had heard that on Holi it is dangerous for a woman to go out alone during the day, so I attended the festival with a total of 35 of my friends. It is unfortunate that even after this such an incident happened.

The video which has created an uproar on social media was not taken at any particular time. This video was made while playing Holi, in which by coincidence such an incident got recorded. I would be grateful if you could understand that in this video I was not trying to point out the evils or dangers of Holi in India.

It might not be visible in the video, but the cameraman and other people were helping us. The place where this video was shot is considered one of the most unsafe places to play Holi in India. Knowing this, I participated in this festival.

Holi festival in India is actually a very beautiful and fun festival, which aims to celebrate the arrival of spring. People here celebrate this festival by sprinkling colorful gulal and pouring water on each other. There is no discrimination on the basis of people’s color or social status.

We apologize again that we have worried many people through videos and Twitter. I apologize to everyone from my side. My aim was just to show the goodness and happiness of Holi. In view of this incident, the police has promised us that they will speed up their action. We hope that next year there will be less incidents of molestation of women on Holi.

And most importantly, I love everything about India. I have been here many times and it is a fascinating country. It is such a wonderful country where even when such incidents happen, you cannot hate it. India and Japan will always be ‘Tomodachi’ ie friends.

It can be seen in the video that the girl is trying to save herself, but the boys are not letting her go.
