As soon as the moon came out, the married women completed the fast by showing the moon with a drink with a sieve. Mahavrat of unbroken good fortune was seen from house to house including Swaroop Nagar, Aryanagar, Govind Nagar, Gumti.

Similarly, in the Durga temple located in Govind Nagar, the honeymooners kept waiting for the moon for the worship plate. As soon as the moon came out, after performing the worship rituals, the married people sang hymns on the beat of the dholak.

Husbands also kept the fast of Karva Chauth
A large number of honeymooners saw the moon from the apartments of Kalyanpur, Shyam Nagar, Swaroop Nagar, Nawabganj and NRI City. Ragini Awasthi of Bhavani Nagar, husband Amar Awasthi and Laxmi of Barra observed the first Karva Chauth fast for Gaurav Omar. There were fireworks till late in the night.
