In Amritsar, Punjab, there was fierce ruckus on Thursday, 23 February, thousands of Amritpal’s supporters reached outside Ajnala police station and swords were waved. The whole ruckus happened because of Lovepreet Toofan, accused of kidnapping and assault, who has been taken into custody by the police. Why was Luvpreet Toofan detained?
First of all, let us tell you why Lovepreet Toofan was taken into custody. A complaint was given against Waris Punjab De Sanghatana chief Amritpal and his associates for abducting Chamkaur Sahib Varinder Singh and assaulting him. After which the police swung into action. In this case, Lovepreet Toofan, close to Amritpal, was detained by the police for questioning.
Ruckus started after detention
Amritpal’s supporters started gathering after Lovepreet Toofan was taken into custody. Hundreds of people reached outside Amritsar’s Ajnala police station as soon as they saw it. During this time the police were present in very small numbers. Taking advantage of which Amritpal’s supporters broke the barricading and moved forward, during this time swords were seen in the hands of many people, which they were waving. Their demand was that Toofan should be released as soon as possible. Seeing the atmosphere, the police had to bow down to these protesters and got ready for release.
Who is Lovepreet Toofan?
Now let us tell you who is this Lovepreet Toofan, for whose release the entire police station itself was surrounded. Lovepreet is considered very close to Amritpal. Amritpal Singh is a Khalistani supporter, he clearly says that the Khalistani movement is being carried forward peacefully from his side. Amritpal took command of Waris Punjab De, accused of Red Fort violence and the organization of late actor Deep Sidhu. Lovepreet Toofan is considered the right hand of this Amritpal. Kidnapping, assault and many such cases are registered against him. Toofan is a resident of Gurdaspur in Punjab.
