Even after the reduction in the rate of crude oil last week, there has been no change in the price of petrol and diesel. If we talk about today’s petrol-diesel price (Petrol Diesel Price 10 September 2022), then in Delhi today petrol is being sold at Rs 96.72 and diesel at Rs 89.62 per liter. Petrol in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 111.35 and diesel at Rs 97.28 per liter, in Chennai petrol at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per liter and Kolkata at Rs 106.03 and diesel at Rs 92.76 per litre.

Government had reduced excise duty
On 21 May 2022, the Central Government had made a big cut in the Central Excise Duty in view of the rising petrol and diesel prices in the country. After this reduction, the price of petrol in the country was reduced by Rs 8 per liter and the price of diesel by Rs 6 per liter. Since then, the prices of petrol and diesel in the country have remained stable till now.
