West Bengal woman sold in Delhi, police rescued from red light area – 2 accused arrested


Kolkata Human Trafficking: A sensational case has come to light from Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Here, the Crime Investigation Department of Kolkata Police has arrested two people on Saturday on charges of human trafficking. The woman’s father had lodged a complaint with the police, on the basis of which a case was registered against the accused. The man is accused of befriending a woman from Bengal through phone and sold her along with her 4-year-old child in Delhi. The CID said that one of the accused has been identified as Samsul SK alias Saddam and the other as Abdullah Mandal.

The CID said that Samsul SK alias Saddam befriended the 24-year-old woman on the pretext of marrying her and kept talking on the phone for a few months. After this, Saddam arranged a job for that woman in Delhi. Meanwhile, the woman went to her maternal home with her child. Saddam sold the woman and her child to an agent in Delhi for a hefty amount. The agent pressurized the woman to push her into prostitution.

Woman rescued with the help of mobile tower
CID sources said that the aspect of human trafficking came to the fore when after unsuccessful attempts, the woman finally reached out to her father using a client’s mobile phone. The woman’s father lodged a complaint at the Mograhat police station and a case was registered under sections 365 and 366 of the IPC. During the investigation, the police traced the mobile tower from where the woman had made the call and rescued her from the red light area with the help of the Delhi Police. However, no arrest had been made till that time.

Both the accused arrested from Kultali area
Due to his involvement in interstate human trafficking, the Bengal CID took over the investigation. At the same time, on the basis of the woman’s statements, intelligence input and digital evidence, CID officials traced Saddam. The Anti Human Trafficking Unit of Bengal CID arrested Saddam and other accused Abdullah Mandal on Saturday from Kultali area of ​​South 24 Parganas district. The CID officer said that we are probing the matter on top priority.
