The doors of the temple were opened at 4 am during the Bhasma Aarti in the world famous Shri Mahakaleshwar temple on Wednesday. After bathing Lord Mahakal with water, Abhishek was worshiped with Panchamrit made of milk, curd, ghee, sugar, fresh fruit juice. With cannabis, sandalwood, dry fruits, vermilion ornaments, Ganesha was adorned with a beautiful make-up.
Wearing a silver crown of Sheshnag on the head, a silver garland of flowers made of fragrant flowers was offered along with a silver hood and a rosary of Rudraksha. Enjoyed fruits and sweets.
Devotees who arrived in large numbers for Bhasma Aarti took the blessings of Baba Mahakal. Bhasma was offered to Lord Mahakal from the side of Maha Nirvani Akhara. It is believed that after offering ashes, the Lord appears from the formless to the corporeal form.
