LG Saxena has written a letter to CM Kejriwal.
On CM Kejriwal’s ‘LG Kaun Hote Hain’ statement in the Delhi Assembly, Vinay Saxena says that there is no need to answer on this. LG has written a letter to Kejriwal. In this he said – I am not your headmaster. I am the honest voice of the people.
In the four-page letter, Saxena has mentioned the march of MLAs and ministers from the assembly to the LG office, sending teachers to Finland, private schools in Delhi, quality education. In response to the CM’s statement that the Lieutenant Governor does not want to meet, he said that this is wrong. CM Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister were given time to meet, we would feed them if they had come, but they demanded that I meet them along with all the MLAs, it was not possible in such a short time.
LG has written a letter of 4 pages to CM Kejriwal.
Key points of LG’s letter…
- Enrollment in government schools was 16.1 lakh in 2013-14, which reached 15 lakh in 2019-20. However, the population of the city has increased during this period and the enrollment should also have increased.
- According to the National Achievement Survey, the performance of 30% students up to class 8 in government schools is below the basic level. The performance of 33% of class 10 students is below the basic level.
- Children have phobia about maths and science. Because of this only 21,340 out of 2,31,448 students have opted for science stream in class 12th.
- The number of children going to private schools in Delhi has increased. This number was 35% in 2013-14, which increased to 43% in 2019-20. During Corona, a large number of children migrated from private to government schools, yet their number is 40%.
- Even in the recent past, a proposal was approved to send 55 government school principals and vice principals to Cambridge for 10 days for training.
LG said – I am not your headmaster
LG said- I am not your headmaster. I have been living in Delhi for the last 7-8 years and I am also concerned about the capital. I am the honest voice of the people. Delhi is in serious trouble and you are protesting. Apart from this, LG also surrounded Kejriwal on the issue of education. He also mentioned about the falling percentage of students in government schools and colleges.
Proposal to send teachers to Finland was not rejected
He said, ‘I am repeatedly saying that the proposal to send teachers to Finland for a training program has not been rejected. The government has been advised to evaluate the proposal and record a cost benefit analysis of the impact on education, so that the effect of foreign training received by the teachers can be known.
Kejriwal said – LG sir, leaving politics, focus on law and order
CM Kejriwal has also targeted the LG over the molestation incident with Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Women’s Commission. He said what happened to the law and order situation in Delhi. The courage of the goons has increased so much that even the women’s commission chairman is not safe. In the constitution, only this work has been given to the LG. He is requested to leave politics for a few days and focus on law and order.
