Accused former minister Sunder Sham Arora
Vigilance is currently caught in this screw by who had given the vehicle used by former Punjab minister Sunder Sham Arora for bribe of Rs 50 lakh to him. So far it is not clear whether the former minister himself had taken the vehicle or his partner had taken it. Because after not getting relief from the High Court, Deepak Garg, manager of Marbella Grand, has recorded his statement to Vigilance.
Deepak Garg told Vigilance that he had no role in the matter. He told that the vehicle which was used to carry 50 lakh rupees was taken by his other partner, but Vigilance has not made any disclosure regarding the identity of that partner.
Vigilance will send notice to other partner
Now the Vigilance will give notice to the other partner who took the vehicle in the bribery case, so that he can be interrogated. Only after that it will be clear whether the vehicle was actually taken by him or whether the vehicle was given to the accused former minister Arora by some third person.
No relief from High Court
Marbella Grand’s manager Deepak Garg and Devi Dayal Garg had filed a petition in the High Court after being named in the case. He had demanded from the court that he should be given 7 days notice before taking any kind of action against him, but the High Court had ordered him to petition before the trial court. After this, Deepak Garg reached Vigilance to record his statement.
Former minister Arora was arrested on October 15
Former minister Sunder Sham Arora was arrested red-handed by Vigilance on October 15 for giving a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to AIG Vigilance Manmohan Kumar. Vigilance had obtained three-day remand from the court for questioning Arora. After this, the court sent Arora to judicial custody. During the vigilance investigation, it was found that the car from which Arora had brought Rs 50 lakh as bribe belonged to the Marbella Grand Managers.
