‘Vande Bharat’ to run from October 19: Chair car fares almost at par with Volvo; Time will take one hour less, ticket booking from tomorrow

To promote connectivity and tourism in Himachal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the country’s high speed train Vande Bharat to the state. This is the fourth semi high speed train in the country which will run at a speed of 130 kmph.

According to the railway chart, this train will start running regularly between New Delhi railway station and Amb Andaura station in Una district from October 19. This train will cover the distance of 412 km between New Delhi to Una in 5 and a half hours. This train will run 6 days a week except Friday.

From Delhi this train will leave at 5.50 am and reach Amb Andaura at 11.05 am.

In terms of fares, the Vande Bharat Express train and Volvo buses have almost the same fare. The fare from Amb Andaura to New Delhi in Volvo Bus is Rs.991 and from Una to New Delhi is Rs.899.

Those traveling in the chair car of Vande Bharat Express train will also have to pay Rs 955 for this distance. Yes, in this they will not get food on the way. The fare will increase on taking food facility.

In terms of time, Volvo bus takes around 6 and a half hours from Una to New Delhi while Vande Bharat Express train will reach in 5 and a half hours.

When will Vande Bharat reach where?

Vande Bharat train will stop at only 3 stations between New Delhi to Amb Andaura. These include Ambala, Chandigarh and Anandpur Sahib stations. Departing from New Delhi at 5.50 am, this train will reach Ambala at 8 am at a speed of 130 kmph. After halting there for 2 minutes, the train will reach Chandigarh at 8.40 am at the speed of 110 kmph.

The train has a stoppage of 5 minutes at Chandigarh station. The train will leave Chandigarh at 8.45 am and will reach Amb Andaura station at 11.05 am. In between the train will also stop at Anandpur Sahib station for 2 minutes.

In return direction, this train will leave Amb Andaura station at 1 pm and will reach Una station at 1.21 pm. The train will reach Anandpur Sahib at 2.08 hrs after halting for 2 minutes at Una. From there the train will leave at 2.10 am and reach Chandigarh at 3.25 pm. After stopping for 5 minutes at Chandigarh, the train will leave at 3.30 am and will reach Ambala Cantt station at 4.13 pm. The train halt at Ambala will also be for two minutes and from there the Vande Bharat train will leave at 4.15 pm and reach New Delhi railway station at 6.25 pm.

This train will pass through Rupnagar Nangal Dam, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Karnal and Sonipat stations but will not stop at any of these stations.

Fares range from Rs 955 to Rs 2240

Passengers will be able to travel in chair car and executive chair car in Vande Bharat Express train. The base fare from Una to Delhi in chair car will be Rs 759. It will be around Rs 955 including railway’s reservation charge, superfast charge and GST etc. If a chair car passenger also wants food during the journey, then he will have to pay an additional Rs 308.

Similarly, the base fare for executive class has been kept at Rs 1556 which does not include reservation charge, superfast charge and GST. Taking all these together, the fare will be around Rs 1890. If an executive class passenger also wants food facility in the train, then he will have to pay an extra Rs 369 for that.

Whether to take food or not, the option will have to be selected at the time of booking the ticket.

Railway will start booking from tomorrow

Railways will start booking tickets for this train from October 14. The train will have a total of 16 coaches which are equipped with modern facilities. According to the railway’s online chart, Vande Bharat train will be operational from October 19.

Prime Minister Modi first started Vande Bharat Express in the year 2019. These trains are fitted with an automatic engine, which reduces electricity usage by up to 30%.

On-demand Wi-Fi

Passengers traveling in Vande Bharat Express train will get on-demand Wi-Fi facility. Each compartment of the train has a 32-inch screen on which essential information will be available to the passengers. For the differently-abled, many facilities have been given in this vehicle including seat number, seat handle in Braille script.

The executive chair car has 180-degree reciprocating seats. Four platform side cameras are installed outside this coach of the train, including rear view cameras.

Vande Bharat train will run from Amb-Andaura to Una, Nangal and Chandigarh railway stations at an average speed of 110 kms. Due to the big rail line between Ambala to New Delhi, its speed will be 130 km. Its speed has been fixed at 100 km per hour from Una to Andorra.

Hotels to eat

Station master of Una railway station Rohit Jha told that there is no pantry car facility in Vande Bharat Express train. IRCTC has tied up with hotels to provide food in this train. Apart from this, hot case facility will be available in every coach of the train.
