A moving ceremony was held in the district to celebrate the birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki, the deity of the Valmiki community. The running ceremony started from Mathuranagar and reached the station road through the major roads of the city, where all the programs of Jayanti were completed. The birth anniversary of Maharishi Valmiki is celebrated every year on the full moon day of the month of Ashwin. Maharishi Valmiki’s birth anniversary is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India.

Former councilor Sunil Malviya told that the important epic of Hinduism, Ramayana was composed by Maharishi Valmiki. The Ramayana written in Sanskrit language by Valmiki is considered to be the oldest. The yatra of Lord Valmiki was taken out with great pomp in the district city. In this, the devotees were seen dancing with the band Bajo. The epic Ramayana was composed by Lord Valmiki, in which he gave the whole of Lord Shri Ram from his childhood to Baikunth Dham in his epic.

On the other hand, in Madhusudangarh, Balmiki Jayanti was celebrated with pomp by the people of Balmiki Samaj. During this, the ongoing celebrations of Balmik Jayanti started from Guna Road Rest House. The procession passed through the main market. On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, people of Balmik Samaj were also present in large numbers in the running ceremony.
