Minor Girl Raped in Jammu and Kashmir: An incident of rape has come to light from Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Where a teacher has been arrested for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The police arrested the teacher in this case on Tuesday (March 14). The police have identified the accused as Abdul Wahid Bhat. Police said that the accused has confessed to the crime and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. Srinagar police gave this information.
Allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate touching
Police has arrested the accused from Chanapora area of Srinagar district. The accused school teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl student and touching her inappropriately. Police told that the teenager is a 9-year-old girl. Who was sexually assaulted and inappropriately touched by her teacher Abdul Wahid Bhat son Abdul Rehman Bhat.
The police further said that the accused is a tuition teacher by profession and he used to teach the girl. Along with this, he said that teacher Abdul Wahid Bhat is a resident of R/o Khan Colony, Chanapora. The police further said that the accused has confessed to his crime. Based on the complaint, the police have registered an FIR in this matter at Chanpura police station. The police have registered an FIR under Section 354 of the IPC and Section 12 of the POCSO Act of 2023 and arrested him.
