Mumbai crime: Pankaj Yadav, a constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), beat a sub-inspector of his own department to death. The reason for the murder was that the salary of that constable was reduced in 2019. The 30-year-old accused constable had also made a complete plan to kill three other officers responsible for reducing the salary. After this massacre, RPF policemen reached Kalyan East’s Kolsewadi police station at around 11 pm to arrest the accused constable. From where he had already fled.
Please inform that Pankaj Yadav assaulted 56-year-old police sub-inspector Basavaraj Garg and fled. Garg was taken to Kalyan Railway Hospital but doctors declared him brought dead. Kolsewadi police deployed a team to track down Yadav. The police came to know that the accused had fled towards Chiplun. The team finally learned that Yadav had reached Pen, where the constable was posted. The pursuing officers then reached Pen, where Yadav was found hiding in a barrack. The officers arrested that constable and brought him to Kolsewadi police station.
The accused was looking for an opportunity
During interrogation, Yadav revealed the reasons behind the murder. In 2019, both PSI Garg and Constable Yadav were posted in Kalyan RPF. MR Deshmukh, senior inspector of Kolsewadi police station, said that the accused Yadav had quarreled due to some reason. As a result of which an FIR was registered against Yadav. PSI Garg was part of that disciplinary committee. Who had conducted a departmental inquiry against Yadav. The panel had decided to freeze his increment and reduce his basic pay.

Accused constable Pankaj Yadav was trying to teach a lesson to two other officers including Basavaraj Garg ever since the decision to cut his salary came. Yadav was posted at Roha railway station, which comes under the jurisdiction of Pen RPF police station. He reached Kalyan railway station at around 9.45 pm on Wednesday (February 8) and went straight to the barrack. When Yadav saw PSI Garg there, Yadav immediately started attacking Garg with bamboo. An officer said that Yadav hit him on the chest, head and face, leaving him bleeding.

Meanwhile, another PSI, Rakesh Kumar Tripathi, who was drying his clothes in the barrack, heard the screams and ran towards Garg’s room. He saw Yadav beating Garg who was lying on the blood-soaked floor. As soon as Tripathi entered the room, Yadav immediately retreated. While PSI Tripathi called his colleagues to help him take Garg to the hospital. DCP (Zone 3) Sachin Gunjal said Yadav was furious and had decided to take revenge on Garg and others. When he came to the barrack on Wednesday, Yadav caught Garg unknowingly and started beating him. Yadav’s attack proved fatal.
