Qatar News: Dr. Shafi Al-Hajri, Professor of Islamic Studies in Qatar, gave a controversial statement that war is the last step for the propagation of Islam. Talking to Rayan TV (Qatar) on Friday (25 November), he said that people should be invited towards Islam. He said that Jizya tax should be paid to protect oneself. Apart from this, he said that whoever opposes it should be fought.
To get protection from others, they have to pay Jizya tax. He said that if they refuse then the third step is to fight with them. The war is part of the third phase to spread Islam. First of all we call people towards Allah, and if they accept, they will have the same duties and rights that we have. If they refused, they would have to pay Jizya tax.
What is Jizya
Jizya is a tax paid by non-Muslims as a protection tax to the Islamic system governing the region. He also said that it may be recalled that Hindus were humiliated by the Muslim Jizya collectors in India during Islamic rule.
Qatar was criticized
Qatar has been widely criticized for the many methods being used to convert people from outside to Islam during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Katara Culture Village Mosque in Qatar’s capital, Doha, has become a hotspot for the conversion of non-Muslim visitors.
Many books of Islam are also being given
Multilingual men and women in the mosque explain to Islam preachers and others the tolerance preached by the religion. Visitors from outside are also being encouraged to view electronic boards on Islam, which are displayed in 30 different languages. Many such books are also being distributed among them, which tell about the greatness and importance of Islam.
Qatar also called Zakir Naik
Qatar’s Ministry of Awakf and Islamic Affairs has also built a pandal outside the venue of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where people from outside are being introduced to Islam and its teachings. He said that recently it was reported that radical Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, who is wanted in India for financial fraud and other crimes, reached Qatar to preach Islam. A 2016 video also went viral in which he is seen converting people to Islam in Qatar.
