Thieves stole Rs 38 lakh in the branch of Axis Bank located at village Bhawanipur in Kapurthala, Punjab at night. When the employees reached the bank in the morning, they were shocked to see the situation there. After the information, the police officers rushed to the spot and started investigation.
According to the information, thieves entered the bank while breaking into a bike repair shop through the fields. By cutting the vault kept in the bank with a cutter, about 38 lakh rupees were stolen from it. Kapurthala SP (D) Harvinder Singh confirmed the theft. The police team has reached the spot and is investigating with the help of dog squad. CCTV footage is also being procured from the head office of the bank.
Axis Bank branch manager Manish Kumar Sharma told the police that the thieves, making their way through the fields behind the bank’s building, entered the bank’s motorcycle repair shop just adjacent to the bank and entered the bank. The event has been executed. About 38 lakh rupees have been stolen from the bank.
SP Harvinder Singh, DSP Sub Division Maninderpal Singh along with the police force are reaching the spot and investigating. SP D Harvinder Singh said that after the CCTV footage comes, the identity of the thieves will be revealed, at present the team of dog squad is also investigating.
