The Hong Kong Observatory said that at 10 a.m. the center of the storm was about 230 kilometers east of Okinawa, Japan. It is being estimated that it will move west-southwest towards Ryukyu Islands at a speed of about 22 kilometers per hour. The JTWC of the US has predicted that the super typhoon may weaken somewhat in the coming days. Things are somewhat calm in the Atlantic, but this is the first time in 25 years that the region known as the Hurricane Alley is calm.
In fact, in this region between Africa and the Caribbean, the month of August is known as the beginning of the most active phase of stormy weather.
