Goa Crime: A family that had gone on a tour as tourists in Goa was attacked in the past. Taking major action in this connection, the Goa Police has also arrested the fifth accused here on Wednesday (March 15). Police said that earlier this month the family was attacked by the staff of a hotel. A complaint was made to the police on behalf of a family member, Jatin Sharma. Police has already arrested four people.
This matter came to light when Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant himself tweeted on it. Sawant had condemned this entire incident. He wrote on Twitter that there are anti-social elements behind this. Along with this, he had also instructed the police to take the strictest action against the criminals.
Police arrested the fifth accused
A 41-year-old man, a resident of Khorlim near Mapusa town, was arrested on the Panaji-Mapusa highway on Wednesday, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi said. According to sources, Dalvi arrested him and handed him over to Anjuna police station. This family, which had come to visit Goa from Delhi’s Anjuna area, was attacked by some people with knives and swords. It was told on behalf of the victim that the whole family was staying in a resort near the beach. After the attack, the victim’s family informed the owner and employees of the resort.
Police said that five people together attacked the tourist family. Acting immediately, the police arrested four people from the spot. The fifth accused, who has been absconding since then, was also arrested by the police on Wednesday.
