DA Hike for Assam Government Employees: The celebration of Diwali (Diwali 2022) has started in India. The festival of Dhanteras is being celebrated across the country. In such a situation, in this festive season of Diwali, there is great news for the state employees of Assam.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced a day before Diwali that dearness allowance to all employees and officers of the state government is being increased by 4%. This increase will be implemented from 1 July 2022. Along with this, the Chief Minister also told that from this month the employees will start getting the increased salary.
Chief Minister gave information by tweeting-
Giving information on the matter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a tweet from his Twitter handle and said, “We are extremely happy to announce that the state government has increased the Dearness Allowance of the employees and officers of Assam. The government has increased the total DA by 4%, which will be available in this month’s salary. Along with this, he also wished Diwali to the state and the countrymen.
Happy to announce 4% additional Dearness Allowance for State Govt employees/All India Service Officers wef 1st July, 2022, payable with this month’s salary.

The government also increased the salary of home guards
Earlier, on October 19, 2022, the Assam government had increased the salary of its home guards from Rs 300 to Rs 767 every. Since then, home guards in the state are getting a salary of Rs 23,010 every month. In March this year also, the state government had increased the DA of state employees by 3%. Thousands of employees and pensioners of the state have got the benefit of this.
After the increase in dearness allowance by the central government, many states increased DA
It is worth noting that last month, the Central Government had announced to increase the DA of central employees. The Modi government had increased the dearness allowance by 4% and it has reached 38%. Since then, many states have continuously increased the dearness allowance of their employees. Since then, many states like Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have increased the DA to their employees.
The Punjab government had increased the dearness allowance of the employees by 6%. On the other hand, on October 1, the Haryana government had increased the DA of its personnel by 6%, the Kejriwal government of Delhi by 4% and the Uttar Pradesh government by 4% in DA and DR. Apart from this, the Government of Jharkhand and the Government of Odisha, while giving gifts to their state workers before Diwali, have increased DA by 4% and 3%.
