The decoration and preparations of the temple were finalized a day before the opening of the doors.

The Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand has started from 22 April. The portals of Badrinath, the fourth Dham of the Yatra, will open at 7:10 am today. Badrinath Dham has been decorated with 15 quintals of marigold flowers. Before this, the throne of Adiguru Shankaracharya left for Pandukeshwar from Narasimha temple.

More than 8 thousand devotees visited Kedarnath

Before this, on April 25, the doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened at 6.20 am. Jagadguru Rawal Bhim Shankar Ling Shivacharya, the chief priest of the temple, opened the doors of the temple. The temple was decorated with 20 quintals of flowers. Thousands of pilgrims going to the temple were stopped from proceeding due to bad weather.

However, on the first day more than 8 thousand devotees had darshan of Baba. Even after minus 6 degree temperature, there were long queues outside the temple since 4 am for darshan.

Registration closed till April 30 to go to Kedarnath

The Uttarakhand government has stopped the registration of pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra till April 30 in view of the heavy snowfall on the pedestrian route to Kedarnath and the meteorological department’s warning. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy snowfall in Kedarnath Dham Marg and Dham. Bad weather is expected in Kedarghati for the next one week.

In view of the avalanche warning, the district administration is taking necessary action. Kedarnath Dham received intermittent rain and snowfall on Sunday. The state government has issued an advisory for the pilgrims. Yatris have been told to keep warm clothes and essential items with them before going to the Dham.
