Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad recently got married in a gorgeous ceremony. Spanning over days, the wedding ceremony, in parts, took place in Delhi and Bareilly. Bareilly is Fahad Ahmad’s hometown. Swara, on Tuesday, drove our midweek blues far away with a string of pictures from her Walima ceremony and we are currently busy drooling. Swara shared the snippets featuring herself and husband Fahad and the pictures are as gorgeous as they can get. Walima ceremony is the last part of a wedding ceremony, also known as the reception, which is done from the groom’s side. The Walima ceremony of Swara and Fahad took place in bareilly and was a star-studded night.

Swara’s Walima outfit is speciual for more reasons than one. The gorgeous outfit travelled across borders, from Lahore to Dubai to Mumbai to Delhi, before reaching Bareilly. On Twitter, Swara shared the snippets and spoke of her designer Ali Xeeshan – “When I called him with an idea of wearing his work at Walima, his warmth and generosity made me admire the person,” read an excerpt of her tweet. Swara placed muse to Ali Xeeshan’s designer house Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio and picked an ivory white attire from the shelves of the designer house. The ensemble featured a heavily embroidered blouse and a matching skirt with heavy embellishment in shades of gold. Swara added an ivory white organza dupatta with minimal patterns in shades of multiple colours to her ensemble and completed her Walima look. “My Walima outfit came all the way from Lahore via Dubai- Bombay-Delhi finally to Bareilly,” Swara shared.

Swara further accessorised her look for the day in golden statement neck choker with green embedded stones, statement earrings, a maang tikka, headgear, bangles and a statement nose ring. Fahad Ahmad, on the other hand, complemented his lady in an ochre kurta and a pair of matching ethnic trousers. He added a white jacket with golden embroidery work and a white and golden shawl to his look. The couple smiled happily for the cameras.

Swara and Fahad met at a protest site and since then, have been together. The couple got married in a civil ceremony on January 6.
