Stock Market Closing On 22nd September 2022: The Indian stock market has closed with a fall for the second consecutive day this week. The market opened with a fall in the morning after the US Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 75 basis points. The day trade market also showed recovery but profit-booking dominated. At the end of trading today, the Sensex of the Mumbai Stock Exchange declined by 337 points to 59,119 and the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed down by 88 points at 17,629 points.
Despite the fall in the market, stocks in the auto, FMCG, pharma, metals consumer durables sector rose well. However, shares of the banking sector, IT, oil and gas sectors closed with a fall. Good buying was also seen in mid cap and small cap stocks. Of the 50 stocks of Nifty, only 23 stocks closed in the green, the remaining 27 stocks fell, while out of 30 stocks of Sensex, only 12 shares closed in the green, and the remaining 18 stocks closed in the red mark.
A total of 3589 shares were traded on the BSE in Thursday’s session, in which 1833 shares rose and 1615 shares closed in the red mark. There is no change in the price of 141 shares. In today’s trading session, 263 shares had upper circuit while 174 shares closed with lower circuit. Despite the fall in the stock market, the market capitalization has increased compared to Wednesday. And it has increased to Rs 281.70 lakh crore.
