Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on a visit to African countries: ‘Vibrant Africa – The Rising Rhythm’ organized, people in large numbers to celebrate the festival

Bringing to life the ancient mantra of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, the Africa Chapter of Art of Living has organized a grand cultural festival 2022 titled ‘Vibrant Africa – The Rising Rhythm’. In which traditional folk musicians, singers and internationally renowned African artists from all African countries came together to present their art and join as a global family to celebrate in the presence of global spiritual leader, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar .

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is on his first visit to African countries Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania. Gurudev and his fervent call to heal the wounds of humanity after a devastating pandemic, create a happy, violence-free and stress-free society has been invoked by academicians, kings and rulers of various states and leaders of business and industry, actors, artists and many influential people. There has been an overwhelmingly positive response from the people including leaders from all walks of life.

On his first visit to Ghana, Gurudev’s President H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, who showed support for the Art of Living initiative in Africa and to launch programs in the areas of Ayurveda, agriculture, youth skills training and prison programs aimed at uplifting the mental health and well-being of the people in the country Welcome to Off Living.

Gurudev was invited to address diplomats and government officials at the Indian High Commission in Ghana and lead a meditation session for them. He also met with indigenous community leaders and encouraged the international community to appreciate and learn from the enormous efforts these leaders have made to keep and honor their traditions.

Gurudev also called on the Ghanaian government to set up Happiness Centers across the country to help people overcome stress and spread positivity. In an event titled Happiness 3.0, Gurudev said, “Building a happy society depends not only on creating the right conditions, but also on creating the right institutions for the pursuit of those conditions.” Gurudev inaugurated the Academic City University College in Accra with His Excellency Mahamudu Bavumia, Vice President of Ghana. Art of Living workshops will be part of the motivation programs at the University to enable students to handle their mind and emotions along with studies.

Over the two days, Gurudev also interacted with eminent people from Africa, including actress Na Ashorkar, who spoke to Gurudev on topics such as love, happiness and world peace. Gurudev led a CEO roundtable titled ‘How to Survive, Thrive and Succeed in the Post-Pandemic Era’ in the presence of key stakeholders from the Nigerian business community. In conversation with Dr. Lanre Olusola, Gurudev discussed a range of issues in Nigeria such as organizational development, community development, human capacity building, mindset change and developing emotional resilience.

“I am delighted to host a delegation of the Art of Living from India, led by the Global Ambassador of Peace – Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar,” King Oba Abdulwasiu Gabolahan Lawal of the Kingdom of Eru said at the inauguration of the Happiness Centre. The Happiness Center which is a unique health and wellness center in Iru Bhoomi, has been created for humanity to promote peace, promote mental health and proper lifestyle.

The Art of Living has reached more than 2.3 million Africans and has connected 22 African countries through peacekeeping missions. The organization has been teaching Happiness and Youth Leadership training programs in Nigeria for over 10 years and has impacted thousands of people in the states of Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, Enugu and Delta.
