Twenty-four-year-old Sahil Gehlot is accused of killing Nikki Yadav (22). He strangled her and kept her body in the fridge. Nikki knew Sahil since 2018. Police said that both were in a live-in relationship. In December 2022, Sahil’s family decides to marry him to a girl of their choice. However, Nikki was pressurizing Sahil to break it. After the engagement on February 9, Sahil reached Delhi in his white Verna. He told Nikki that the news of their marriage is false. Then he asked her to accompany him on the holiday. The next day, between 8.30-9 am, he was murdered in a parking lot near Nigambodh Ghat in the national capital. He later threw her body in a refrigerator at his dhaba. After disposing of Nikki’s body, Sahil married another woman the same day. They got married 8-10 hours after Nikki’s murder.
Dead body hidden in bed after killing live-in partner
A man from Maharashtra named Hardik Shah (27) is accused of killing his live-in partner at their residence in Nalasopara and keeping her body in a bed box. Tulinj police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district arrested a man who was trying to flee after allegedly killing his live-in partner. A police officer said that the accused was caught by Railway Protection Force personnel from a train in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh. The deceased Megha, 35, a nurse by profession, was found dead in her rented house in Tulinj area. When foul smell started coming from inside and the neighbors informed the police. The dead body was found locked in the bed box. According to reports, Megha’s live-in partner was unemployed and the two often quarreled. The officer said that during one such quarrel he allegedly killed her.
Murder of Shraddha and then the dead body in many pieces
Shraddha Walker was murdered by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla, who cut her body into 35 pieces. According to the police, the two fell in love while working at a call center in Mumbai and moved to Delhi in late April or first week of May last year after opposition from the family. But on 18 May 2022, Aftab Poonawalla strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walker to death. Then he cut his body into 35 pieces and kept it in the refrigerator. After this the body parts were thrown away. According to Aftab’s confession during police interrogation, he did the work of disposing of the body parts every night at 2 am. Aftab Amin Poonawala was dating several women through an app and had even brought a young woman to his house, while his live-in partner Shraddha’s body parts were still in the house.
Man arrested for killing girlfriend and burning dead body
In a similar case to Shraddha’s murder, the Chhattisgarh police arrested a man for allegedly killing his girlfriend, burning her body and throwing it in the forest. Odisha Police said that the man has confessed to killing his girlfriend over an alleged affair. The accused allegedly shot his girlfriend and burnt her body to hide the evidence. The incident came to light when the relatives of the deceased woman lodged a missing report at Pandri police station in Raipur. The person was identified as Sachin Agarwal, a resident of Balangir, Odisha. Later the Odisha Police arrested him. Sachin told the police that he had killed his girlfriend because of her alleged relationship with another man. He told the officials that he had taken the woman from Raipur to Balangir on November 21 last year. He confessed to first shooting him and then taking the body to a forest 200 km away, dousing the body with petrol and setting it on fire.
Woman arrested for killing husband and dismembering his body
A Delhi woman and her son were arrested for killing her husband and chopping his body into 10 pieces. Poonam and Deepak Das were arrested on charges of killing her husband Anjan Das at their Trilokpuri home in Delhi. “The mother and son made the deceased Anjan drink alcohol and mixed sleeping pills in it. Then they cut his throat and left the body in the house for a day to let the blood drain completely. Then they cut the body into 10 pieces. In June last year, a severed head and hand were found in East Delhi’s Trilokpuri area, but the police were unable to identify the victim. Months later, an investigation was launched when officials recovered Shraddha’s body parts. In November, it was learned that the body parts found in a decomposed state in June belonged to Anjan Das.
