Gujarat Coronavirus Cases: Gujarat reported six cases of Kovid-19 on Thursday. Two cases each have been reported from Ahmedabad and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporations and one each from the tribal districts of Dahod and Tapi. There are 27 active cases in Gujarat. A Taiwanese woman, who had come to Gujarat from Australia to get married in Rajkot, tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday, while an IT professional and her two-year-old daughter, who had returned from Shanghai to their native town Bhavnagar, tested positive on Thursday.

Dr. Jayesh Vakani, Municipal Officer of Health (MoH) of Rajkot Municipal Corporation said, “The woman is the fiancee of a man from Rajkot who lives in Australia like her. The couple reached Ahmedabad on 18 December and went to their home in Rajkot. Symptoms were found in the woman on 19 December. He got the test done on 20 December. His samples were found positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday.” The woman has been quarantined.

Dr. RK Sinha, MOH of Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation (BMC), said, the woman’s sample has been sent to Gujarat Biotechnology Research Center (GBRC) in Gandhinagar for genome sequencing of the virus. In Bhavnagar, a 35-year-old IT professional who works in Shanghai and his two-year-old daughter got themselves tested on Thursday, hours after they landed in their hometown.
In-charge of RMO New Civil Hospital in Surat, Dr. Rajeev Deb Burman informed that, we have 900 beds, more than 400 ventilators have also been activated. There are 17 kilo liter oxygen tankers which are operational. The samples of the positive cases that will come will be sent to Ahmedabad Civil for genome sequencing.
