The three-day celebrations of the holy 554th Prakash Parv of Jagatguru Sahib Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj in Kanpur began with a grand city kirtan on Sunday. Due to Kovid, when Guru Parv happened after two years, there was tremendous enthusiasm, enthusiasm and passion among the people. The Sikhs astonished the people by showing their feats in Nagar Kirtan. On the other hand, Prabhat pheris also fascinated the people. Guru Singh Sabha was organized in collaboration with Kanpur Latush Road and Sikh Gurdwara Committees, Sikh organizations and Sangat.

Gatka and floats captivated people’s mind

In the forefront of Nagar Kirtan, the symbol of Nishan Sahib and Khalsa Jaho Jalal was resonating, the servants of the Dasmesh Shastra Dal were performing the Sikh martial art “Gatka”, the band players on their musical instruments “Deh Shiva par Mohe e Hai… , Shubh Karman Te Kabbabhunh Na Toron…”. On the other hand, the vehicles of tableaux based on the life of Guru Nanak Dev were working to connect the younger generation with the history of Guru. Children from more than a dozen educational institutions were walking along with the tableaux of Guru Parv showcasing their art.

Ramgarhia Sabha of Kanpur, Ranjeet Nagara, Hemkunt Seva Society, Deep Seva Dal etc. Sikh organizations including women satsang Lalbangla, women satsang Pandu Nagar, women satsang Naseemabad, women satsang Sant Nagar, women satsang Ranjit Nagar, women satsang Bhai Banno Sahib, women satsang People from more than 20 committees including Lajpat Nagar, Stree Satsang Ratanlal Nagar, Youth Khalsa Dal Lalbangla, group of Kirtni and Shabdi “Satguru Nanak Pragatia, Mitti Dhung Jag Chanan Hoa”, “Awwal Allah Noor Upaaya Kudrat Ke Sab Bande, Ek Noor Te Sab Jag upjaya kaun bhale kaun mande”, with the words Guru Yash walked on singing. The Panj Pyare Sahibans were marching in their traditional attire, leading the Nagar Kirtan under the umbrella of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, seated on a vehicle.

From place to place, Nagar Kirtan and Sri Guru Granth Sahib were being welcomed by devotees with floral showers, similarly arrangements for distribution of prasad were also done by organizations and sangat on the entire Nagar Kirtan Marg. Nagar Kirtan Gurdwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha starts from Latush Road and starts its traditional route Bansmandi, Deputy’s Padav, Zarib Chowki, Kalpi Road, Fazalganj, Guru Tegh Bahadur Marg, Kabadi Bazar, Sant Nagar Square, Guru Gobind Singh Chowk, Gurdwara Kirtangarh, Ashok The city, passing through Amar Jawan Jyoti Chowk, was converted into a religious diwan at Motijheel Park.
