The wishes of the traders in Ballia will be fulfilled soon. The reason being that the exercise of allotment of shops of Lohia Market located in Bada Garha Mohalla of the city has intensified. This will be done under the auction process, after which the rent of the shops will be decided. On Tuesday, DM Soumya Agarwal, ADM Rajesh Singh along with other administrative officers and chairman Ajay Kumar inspected the market. He expressed displeasure over the bushfires in the campus.

Directed EO Satya Prakash Singh to clean up soon. Instructions were given to open one more way to meet the fire safety standard before allotment of shops.

City Magistrate Pradeep Kumar was asked to form a committee to remove the encroachment of the street at the earliest and open the way. During the inspection, DM Soumya Aggarwal asked the concerned officials to completely clean the Lohia market within a month. After this, after meeting with the municipal officers in the collectorate, the outline of the allocation was made. In the absence of allocation, the condition of the market built at a cost of crores of rupees is deteriorating.

Municipal EO Satya Prakash Singh said that the process of allotment of shops of Maharishi Bhrigu Ji Complex has started. Under this, the District Magistrate inspected the market and directed the concerned officials. Tax allocation will start up to the contours within a month

In the year 2005, the foundation stone of three-storey Lohia complex was laid on five acres of vacant land of Bada Gadha Mohalla with the efforts of the then former minister of the city, Narad Rai. There was hope of opening of shops of all goods under one roof and the desire of thousands of people to get employment. In this, about 350 shops, offices and parking were to be constructed. Due to paucity of money, only 185 shops could be built so far, the complete construction could not be done. In 2021, the executive body CNDS Azamgarh (Construction and Designing Services) transferred the municipality to Lohia Bazar.
