Principal Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has rejected former Pramukh Bibi Jagir Kaur’s demand to extend the date of Ajlas called on November 9 for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections. Pradhan Dhami has made it clear that these elections are being held as per the rules of SGPC and will be held on November 9 only.

It is worth noting that Sri Guru Nanak Jayanti is coming on 8th November this year. The very next day, Principal Advocate Dhami has called General Ajlas for the SGPC elections. Due to which former head Bibi Jagir Kaur had appealed that the Ajalas called for the elections should be postponed for a few days. According to him many members will be in Gurdwara Nankana Sahib Pakistan during this period.
But Advocate Dhami made it clear that the General House has been called 21 days before the completion of one year of his selection as per the Sikh Gurdwara Act. SGPC has also sent information for this to all the members. Keeping in view the date of General Ajlas, the committee members involved in the group going to Gurdwara Nankana Sahib have also canceled their program.

Advocate Dhami has informed that the members of SGPC who are abroad have been informed. Everyone has given assurance of reaching the General House. In such a situation, most of the members have made their program and many have even canceled the program to visit Gurdwara Nankana Sahib. As such, the program cannot be cancelled.
