SC children’s scholarship issue raised in Assembly: AAP accuses Congress of snatching Rs 1600 crore of 4 lakh children

On the second day of the assembly session, the issue of securing the future of SC children and the scholarship they get came up. Speaker of the Assembly said that necessary steps should be taken to secure their future in the matter related to stipend certificate of SC children. AAP legislature Sarabjit Kaur Manuke said that most of the children do not know about the online process, due to this some relaxation should be given. He said that under the Congress rule, 4 lakh children were deprived of the certificates they got. Under the rule of Congress government, children’s stipend was not given from 2016 to 2020. The legislature said that the Congress minister ate money and was also given a clean chit. He asked where was the Congress when the people of Punjab were on hunger strike. The legislature asked Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Congress Punjab President Raja Vading and others as to how 4 lakh children dropped out under Congress rule. The legislature said that from 2016 to 2020, the Congress government ate a stipend of Rs 1600 crore, children were dying but Congress did not hold anyone’s hand.

Earlier, during the zero hour of the Punjab Assembly session, Congress MLAs protested fiercely and raised slogans against the AAP government. The Speaker of the Assembly also appealed to Congress Punjab President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading to remain calm. The Speaker had to adjourn the House for half an hour as the commotion in the session did not subside.
Cheema said that in two-and-a-half months, none of the 18 Congress MLAs raised a single question. While the ruling AAP MLAs put up 47 questions. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh said that the Punjab government should take action at its level regarding his appeal and challenge the decision.
