Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The High Court has granted interim bail to Gurpreet Kaur, second wife of Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Punjab Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra. Gurpreet Kaur has already filed a petition in the High Court against MLA Pathanmajra and has made many other allegations including rape and cheating by falsely pretending to marry.
The woman had earlier given a complaint to the SSP of Mohali on August 23, but after no action was taken, she filed a petition in the High Court and also pleaded for her protection. The High Court had issued notice on this petition on August 30.
The woman told the High Court that the police did not take any action on her complaint, but on September 3, the MLA on the contrary lodged an FIR against her under the IT Act at the police station Julka. On this, he had sought anticipatory bail, expressing the fear of his arrest.
