The Delhi High Court has upheld the anticipatory bail plea granted to Rohit Joshi, son of Rajasthan minister Mahesh Joshi, in the rape case. Hearing on the demand for cancellation of anticipatory bail petition has been postponed. The next hearing in this case will be on January 11, 2023. Replying to Joshi on the petition challenging the anticipatory bail, reiterated that the allegations are not true.
The High Court had issued a notice to Rohit Joshi on July 21. The rape victim filed a petition seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail plea granted to Rohit Joshi. On June 8, the Sessions Court of Tis Hazari Court had granted anticipatory bail to Rohit Joshi. The girl has alleged that her brother and father were attacked in Jaipur on July 10. On July 13, the girl had lodged an FIR at the Ramganj police station in Jaipur regarding this attack. It has been said in the petition that the investigation in this case is still at a critical juncture, in such a situation it is not right to release the accused on anticipatory bail.
Delhi Police had also filed a petition
Before the petition for cancellation of the bail of the victim, Delhi Police had also filed a petition for cancellation of Rohit’s bail. On which the court refused to interfere.
In the FIR lodged by the girl in Delhi from Aarey, Rohit was accused of physical abuse from January 2021 to April 2022 on the pretext of marriage.
It is worth mentioning that according to the rape victim, she did not trust the Rajasthan Police because of Rohit being a minister’s son. He came to Delhi in the month of May and lodged an FIR. In the FIR lodged by the girl in Delhi from Aarey, Rohit was accused of physical abuse from January 2021 to April 2022 on the pretext of marriage. It is alleged that when she used to oppose Rohit’s actions, he used to beat her up. Minister’s son Rohit Joshi has been accused of physical abuse at different places in Sawai Madhopur, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Jaipur. The girl accused Rohit Joshi of threatening and blackmailing the entire family by threatening her father.
