According to IMD, this time in the month of February, even 1 mm of rain has not been received.

This time Punjab and Haryana have received 99% less rainfall in February. Western disturbances were made twice in February, but they could not show any effect. Meteorological scientist SC Bhan said that the temperature increased due to less rain, clear sky, formation of anti cyclonic circulation in February. According to the Meteorological Department, heatwave will start coming in central India in March itself. In the hilly, plains, western and eastern states of the north, there will be less heatwave in March, it will increase in April-May.

Experts predict heatwave will be less except in central India

  • Some neutral conditions may prevail in March, many meteorological models are indicating weakening of La-Nina conditions and emergence of El-Nino conditions in April-May. The mercury will be higher than this.

Haryana received 99% less rainfall than normal in February, the lowest in 6 years. This time 0.1 mm of rain was recorded in Punjab. The highest rainfall was recorded in 2013 at 137 mm.
