Maharaja Purshottam of Bastar had attained the title of Rathapati by visiting Jagannath Puri. In Bastar, from the second day of Navratri to Saptami, this chariot, which is circumambulated on Maiji’s ride (Doli Chhatra), is known as Full Rath. The elephant leading it has a 750 kg pure gold ambari (throne) on its back, in which the idol of Mata Chamundeshwari is placed.
