So far this year, 34 families have given healthy life to seriously ill people by donating their own organ at Chandigarh-based PGI. At the same time, he has brought light in the lives of the blind. In a fresh case, the Argan family of Ram Saran (53) of Sarthali village of Ropar has donated to PGI. This has changed the lives of 3 people.

He had problems with organ failure. The director of PGIMER, Professor Vivek Lal has appreciated this move of the family. He said that due to the efforts of the institute, organ donation is gradually increasing.

According to the information, Ram Saran went on a morning walk with his family on November 3. While returning, a speeding two-wheeler hit him badly from behind. This made him unconscious. He was taken to the nearest civil hospital, from here he was referred to PGI. During treatment here, his body was not responding. He was admitted here on November 3 in a very bad condition. He was treated in the Department of Neuro-surgery. Despite many efforts, his condition did not improve. In such a situation, on November 5, he was declared brain dead.

Liver and kidney donation
The transplant coordinators then reached out to Ram Saran’s family and asked them to consider organ donation. After getting the approval of the family, Ram Saran’s liver and kidneys were removed. This saved the lives of three patients who were in the final stages of organ failure.

Kashmero Devi, wife of the deceased Ram Saran, said that her husband always believed in giving something and was very kind. Whenever he did something for the people, he used to get happiness. That’s why he always helped everyone. Even while leaving, he went on giving something to the people. Kashmero Devi said that her husband would live in the form of these patients.

At the same time, Ram Saran’s sons Gurpreet Singh and Charan Jeet Singh said that they did not know what organ donation was but when they came to know that one of their decisions could change the lives of others, they agreed. With one of his decisions, the rest of the patients will be able to spend time with their loved ones for a long time.
