During the second ‘two plus two dialogue’, India-Japan emphasized on increasing bilateral defense cooperation. The two countries agreed to conduct more maneuvers, including the first Air Force exercise. He expressed his commitment to a rules-based global order that respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
India supported Japan’s efforts to enhance its counter-attack capabilities against aggressive China and modernize it with the expansion of its defense forces. Without naming any country, the statement said that Japan has also expressed its resolve to examine all options necessary for national defense, including “counterstrike capabilities”. Explain that India and Japan are members of the Quad group, which also includes America and Australia.
