The farmers allege that by amending it, the government can give land to private big houses in the coming time. Sarwan Singh Pandher, leader of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, informed that they would start gathering near Valla Phatak at around 10 am. After which the farmers will sit on the railway track at 12 o’clock and will protest against the state and central governments till about 3 o’clock. Sarwan Singh Pandher said that earlier the anger of the farmers was only against the Centre, but now the Punjab government is also following the same path. The government has amended the Common Village Land Act 1961. Under this, preparations are on to give the ownership of “Mushtarka Malkan” land to the Panchayat.

The farmers allege that the panchayats in the villages are formed by those whose government is in the state. In such a situation, if the Panchayats will get the right of “Mushtarka Malkan” land, then they will directly start doing their own free will. It is clear that the governments will snatch them from the farmers of the village and give them to big families, but this farmer will never approve.
